STEM Saturdays at the CTC

During these highly engaging Saturday sessions, students will explore the Code.org Computer Science Discoveries curriculum, while learning to configure and troubleshoot a MinecraftEdu Local Area Network (LAN). Other activities include: Robotics, Coding, Video Game Design, and a variety of STEM challenges.

This workshop is open to students in 5th through 9th grades.

STEM Camp (Austin)

Come participate in hands-on activities revolving around the four pillars of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).  Students will complete mini science experiments, solve problems through the Engineering Design Process and learn the basics of coding with Osmo!

T.M.I. (Think, Make, Improve) IT Camp (Week 2)

Participants in this camp will have in-depth experiences with MinecraftEdu, Linux Lubuntu Operating System, Programming/Coding, Microcontrollers, Geocaching, and the ability to explore a topic of their own (3D design/printing, Drones, Rockets, Legos, K'Nex, Ozobots, Role-playing games, movie production/green screening, etc.) during our daily Genius Hour. Students will receive an official Raspberry Pi beginner kit at the end of the experience.

This free summer camp is made possible by generous donations through EITC funds.

At Kids for IT, we will explore all aspects of STEM while "playing". Students will explore water bottle rockets, K'Nex sail cars, drones, robots and circuitry. Students will also dabble in computer programming (through building their own app) and computer networking (by building a LAN and playing MinecraftEdu on it).
