MTH 120 Foundations of Math 3 credit hours
Corequisite: See NPRC Placement Standards for Mathematics
This course promotes interpretation and communication of quantitative information presented
in verbal, symbolic, graphical, or numerical form, and the ability to draw conclusions about and
make decisions with quantitative information. An understanding of mathematical and statistical
concepts is built through the development of number sense and problem-solving skills as
applied to financial literacy, mathematical perspective, logical reasoning, linear and exponential models, conversions, descriptive statistics, probability, and data.
