SPC 210 Public Speaking
3 credit hours
Prerequisite: ENG 110
This course introduces fundamental principles and practices of effective verbal communication
in a variety of contexts involving public speaking. Students develop knowledge, skills, and
abilities in voice production, nonverbal communication, confidence, and poise necessary
to produce optimal verbal presentations. The course cultivates improved listening and
interviewing skills, the ability to appropriately respond to verbal communication in a variety of public settings, and incorporate the use of technology in required verbal presentations.
