PHL 110 Introduction to Philosophy 3 credit hours
This course examines the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence beginning
with the dawn of philosophical awareness among the ancient Greek philosophers. Traditional
and modern approaches to the understanding of the human condition are incorporated with
consideration given to the importance of skepticism and critical reasoning in human affairs.
The relationship between certainty, belief, and doubt is explored, and the boundaries of human knowledge is examined.
